Description

Welcome to the Basic Disaster Camp taking place in Fairbanks, November 14-15, 2015. We are very excited about the upcoming Camp and invite you to join us for a weekend of basic training that will make our Division stronger. All participants will be able to receive training Mass Care Sheltering and Casework and Recovery Planning, which are both required for active DAT members. We're excited to offer these courses in a casual setting that allows you to complete your training in one weekend.

This effort is designed to motivate, energize, train, and prepare the Disaster Cycle Services team throughout the Pacific Division. Our workforce is the most critical and valuable resource we have and the goal of this effort is to match your dedication with a training, communication and exercise program worthy of your commitment to serve.

The Pacific Division is one of six American Red Cross Divisions and is comprised of the following states and territories: Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Hawaii, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.  Historically this Division has experienced every imaginal type of natural disasters including residential and wildand fires, earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, landslides, windstorms, tsunamis, and more.  In addition, our communities experience man-caused events that test our communities' ability to prepare, respond and recover.  The American Red Cross is there to support each community in their time of need, and the Pacific Division's ongoing challenge is to help build resilient communities - from our beaches, mountains, high deserts, and metropolitan  areas. We are a geographically and culturally diverse Division brought together by our commitment to Service in the Pacific.
